Lecture of the Week: John Polkinghorne on Science and Religion

John Polkinghorne is a theoretical physicist and a theologian – Anglican Priest – who has done much work in particle physics (quarks, gluons, etc.) He has also done a lot of interesting work in the debate between science and religion. He was the founding President of the International Society for Science and Religion, and in 2002 was awarded the Templeton Prize for Progress Towards Research of Discoveries about Spiritual Realities. His major works include:

  • Quantum Physics and Theology
  • Belief in God in an Age of Science
  • Science and Religion in Quest of Truth
  • and many others

This lecture is entitled The Friendship of Science and Religion and was given on November 14, 2010 sponsored by Point Loma Nazarene University.
